Black Joy Exhibit

Bellevue Arts Museum | June - July 2025

In a world often overshadowed by systemic injustice and generational trauma, Black Joy asserts itself as a radical act of liberation. It defies oppression, dismantles stereotypes, and centers the richness of everyday Black life. This exhibition invites viewers to witness and feel the power of joy as a healing force — one that restores, uplifts, and connects. Featuring work from local Black artists across mediums — from painting and photography to sculpture, sound, and installation — the exhibit explores the question: What does Black joy look like?
